TECHNOLOGY THAT MOVES YOU
What is Electrical Muscle Stimulation?
Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) is a technology that uses electrical impulses to stimulate your muscles, causing them to contract just as they would during exercise. These impulses mimic the action potential that comes from your central nervous system, activating muscle fibers even when you’re not actively exercising.
The Science Behind EMS
The benefits of moderate-to-high intensity multiple muscle electrical stimulation is based on solid and extensive research. The FDA electrical muscle stimulator clearance describes the effects as increased regional blood flow, muscle re-education, reduced muscle spasms, pain management, and prevention of disuse muscle atrophy. This results in improved coordination and increased synovial fluid production, as well as increased lubrication to the fibers of local tendons and ligaments and oxygen and nutrients to the muscles.
The Four Types of Electrical Stimulation

Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation
Focuses on strengthening muscles by causing repeated contractions. It’s primarily used for muscle re-education, preventing atrophy, and building strength.

FES is a form of NMES
FES targets muscle fibers related to functional movements, such as targeting muscles associated with sitting, walking, or grasping an object. Clients generally undergo FES training under the guidance of a therapist for rehabilitation; however, FES therapy can also be utilized for mastering a sport-specific athletic movement.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation
In a single bag you sling over your shoulder, awaits an “on the go” system to help you move. WHEREVER you are, Neuro20 is there to help you achieve your goals.

Patterned Electrical Muscle Stimulation
Activates multiple muscle groups in coordinated sequences to create complex movement patterns, mimicking natural functional movements.

Recover from Stroke
Stroke often causes spasticity, muscle weakness, and impaired mobility. Neuro20’s EMS modalities (e.g., NMES, FES) reduce spasticity and promote muscle re-education, aiding recovery [Stein et al., 2015, Stroke].
Manage Spinal Cord Injury
Spinal cord injuries, like tetraplegia, lead to spasticity, muscle atrophy, and pain. Neuro20’s whole-body stimulation supports muscle function and pain relief, with reported cases reducing medication reliance [YouTube Interview, Dr. Cronin, 2023].
Support for Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
MS causes muscle weakness, spasticity, and coordination issues. Neuro20’s FES and PEMS modalities enhance muscle control and mobility, improving quality of life [Neuro20 Case Studies, 2024].
Relieve Chronic Pain
Neuropathic or spasticity-related pain is common in neurological conditions. TENS in Neuro20 alleviates pain by interrupting nerve signals, supported by research [Celik et al., 2014, Pain Medicine].
Support for Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral palsy causes spasticity and motor impairments. Neuro20’s NMES and FES modalities can reduce muscle tightness and improve movement patterns, aiding functional gains [Harvey et al., 2015, Spinal Cord].
Improve with Parkinson’s
Parkinson’s leads to tremors, rigidity, and mobility challenges. Neuro20’s PEMS and NMES can improve muscle coordination and reduce stiffness, as seen in case studies [Neuro20 Case Studies, 2024].
LONG COVID RECOVERING
I can’t express how much my life and outlook have changed since being introduced to Neuro20. All of the uncertainty in my path to recovery from paralysis and neuromuscular impairment is gone. This suit and technology are truly a godsend. I can confidently say that I am rebuilding my body and seeing improvement with movement and function each day. The only direction I can go now is up.

After 15 years...New Potential Has Begun to Take Shape
![]()
“Prior to this first session, I have dealt with a constant spasticity that resembles a Charlie horse on my right calf for 15 years. After the first session of the activated suit, my leg spasticity went away and continued to stay away for almost 4 days. I have been using the Neuro20 system for a month now. The improvements I have experienced include being able to stand up without support, being able to stand for longer periods of time and maintaining a standing position without having to brace myself against a support structure. I have also noticed that my blood pressure has gone down and my sleep routine has completely changed. I used to fall asleep after hours of laying bed from pain and spasticity but my nightly pain level has decreased.”

Defining a Better Way to Move for Myself One Day at a Time

“Together with Jesus Villafane, Performance Trainer for Neuro20, I set out to build muscle instead of fat. Every workout begins with checking my heart rate and oxygen level, then a shower and a stretch. My physical therapist taught me and my aides how to limber-up safely and effectively. Next comes my cardio workout. Neuro20 is awesome for its ability to create patterned motion. It is very similar to the central pattern generators in my spinal cord, which do not work correctly for me anymore. I start with the walk pattern and then the run pattern once I am warmed up. I constantly check my pulse to make sure I am getting a good cardio workout without becoming tachycardic. Safety First! I then move on to stretching with the “conditioning program”. My aide helps me run through my muscles in a program taught to me by Jesus Villafane. Every workout lasts for 45 minutes. Every workout is recorded on the app. I am accountable to my Neuro20 family because they can see that I am working out or not. It is an incredible incentive to thrive.”

“I’ve been a Strength and Conditioning Coach for over ten years, with a main focus on baseball players. I have worked with Major League Baseball Organizations in the United States as well as overseas in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Based on my recent experience with the Neuro20 PRO, I believe it does enhance or improve an athlete’s strength, stability and functional movement. Since the Smart Suit is wireless, it’s a great tool for the traveling athlete and allows you to train in your home or on the field.”

From truly being a littler Broken and afraid to confident and self assured! Understanding that I’m really going to be ok…. sometimes this sense of confidence and feeling of empowerment is as important as the physical progress your making. Day after day, month after month of self doubt and pain, your confidence and faith is tested, desperately working to try to get into your head and tear you down. Then one day the haze lifts, you begin to nail an exercise or training. This suit that I wear so proudly has transformed my life and body. I stop and start to cry because I know …. really know that my body is starting to catch up to my vision and goals and in that very moment, in my case as a bilateral amputee, you start to feel whole again ! That’s just some of what Neuro20 gave me … something I could never repay them for or thank them enough. I SuitUp to become whole again! And I have because of NEURO20!

“Neuro20 technology has solved the greatest challenge for anyone with a spinal cord injury. The possibility to feel and move an area of your body that you could not feel. The ability to retrain the muscle through corrective movement patterns allowing you to see and feel in parts of your body that you have not felt since prior to your injury. I personally use the Neuro20 because I believe in the technology and I believe in time it will allow me to walk again.”

“Neuro20 technology has solved the greatest roadblock in rehabilitation: correcting old habits that were formed in response to old injuries. The ability to retrain corrective movement patterns without injury or exhaustion allows the client to achieve a freedom of performance otherwise unattainable. I personally use the Neuro20 system to re-acquire and maintain optimal movement patterns due to injuries sustained over a lifetime of athletic competitions.”
